Comes the Bride
At
right, Jackie (in purple) and her mother, 92-year-old ceramic artist Sylvia
Hyman, welcome Myrna Grossman to the family. Myrna recently
married Jackie's brother Paul in a beautiful ceremony in
Nashville, Tenn. Bride and groom live in Fairfax, VA,
where Myrna is a wedding planner
The Smithsonian American
Art Museums in Washington have acquired a second sculpture
by Jackie’s mother, Sylvia Hyman. “Bookmobile,”
below right, was donated to the museum by
Morgan Keegan & Co., Inc. This full-size trompe l’oeil
(fool the eye) work is made of porcelain and stoneware.
A film about Sylvia by
Curt Hahn, “Sylvia Hyman:
Eternal Wonder,” has received honorable mention in the
2010 da Vinci Film Festival. The DVD can
